Another reason to love my south is the beauty that peeps out of the ground in late August and September. Cotton fields are beautiful crops of white fluff. I’ve driven past these crops time and again, but I couldn’t do that again when the season had produced such incredible bolls.
In my experience, these gorgeous “blooms” are the true sign that fall is indeed in the air and it is usually about this time that I begin to decorate for fall.
This table top is done in all white as if it all came straight out of the cotton field.
I love the cotton fields and while I love wearing, sleeping in and using cotton in my home, it is always a little sad to see the stripped plants after harvest. But, this is one more reason to celebrate fall, the culmination of harvest season. It won’t be long now until we are preparing all those delicious meals for Thanksgiving.
