Throw Me Something Missy!

Throw Me Something Missy!

Last night, Jay and I attended our first Mardi Gras Parade since our return to the coast. We caught our share of beads and moon pies at the Maids of Jubilee Parade. As my friend and fellow blogger, Leslie Anne puts it, Eastern Shore parades are G rated, compared to the PG-R ratings in Mobile. Check out her post on the KOER (Knights of Ecor Rouge) parade.

The City of Fairhope knows how to throw a parade. The streets are barricaded, and sidewalks roped off so revelers know exactly where to park their cars and their bodies. Known for our beautiful flowers, even the beds are guarded so that our precious blooms don’t get their heads kicked off.

And… if you fail to follow the directions, don’t be surprised if you don’t find your car in the same place you left it or your body riding in a paddy wagon.

Our collection of beads looked something like this, and our moon pies… let’s just say there might be some trampling going on in our house over the next few days.
