I am participating in a 31 day writing challenge. My topic is 31 days of Flipping Out and relates to things I find and flip. It could be anything from a candlestick-turned-soap-dish, to repurposed junk bound for the dumpster. Today’s flip is inspired by Pottery Barn. As soon as I saw this garland, I wanted it, but the price of $129 was a bit steep to use once a year for just a few days.
So I stopped in at Hobby Lobby and purchased a few supplies to make my own version. I knew I wanted a few pinecones and leaves, but beyond that, I would just be creative!
Latte did an inventory check to be sure I had everything I needed.
I purchased garland and 9 picks: 3 glass berries, 3 leaves with pinecones and 3 gourds with corn husks.
I love this season of color.
Pinecones and acorns with fall leaves.
I loved these glass berries.
I placed the garland around the candlesticks and across the mantle.
I then wired one of each of the picks together and placed them in the garland.
My new pumpkins were then perched on a candlestick and on the mantle.
Here is the finished project.
Pottery Barn was my inspiration and I am very pleased with the finished product. And, I’m especially pleased with the price. Hobby Lobby had all of their fall merchandise 40% off, so my grand total for this project was $44 including the pumpkins. The garland when finished was only $18, so compared to $129, I think it looks fantabulous!

Kim it is beautiful! I have a helper too ( Izzy) Thank you for sharing at the Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop.xo
Lovely. I think Pottery Barn should hire you!!
Kim, I think it is beautiful and those pretty colors make me anxious to see the autumn leaves and their beauty. Fall is the prettiest season of the year.
Hello Kim,
Thank you for visiting us at Red Rose Alley. I really like your décor on the mantle. Autumn is such a glorious season, and I love to see all the oranges, reds, and yellows in nature and holiday décor. Isn’t Hobby Lobby the best? I was just there yesterday and found a glitter pumpkin. My daughter likes foxes, and I saw a fox in the Christmas decorations, and had to get it for her. I just have to tell you that your statue is gorgeous. It all looks so nice.
Happy October!

That looks really pretty! Hobby Lobby is a dangerous place. They have so much stuff to choose from and it’s all so attractive. Makes it hard to resist a sale.
Hello Kim,
Your Fall décor looks outstanding…love how you got it all at 40% off…that’s my kind of decorating.
Blessings,
Linda
So pretty. I like yours more that PB, it is custom and you can have something different every year by adding or subtracting. Great idea.
Thank you, W and that’s a great idea, too! Next year I could use acorns or just gourds with the leaves! Thanks for that idea!
