Day 3 of 31 Days of Alaska offers a packing list to make your planning a bit easier. This will be broken down into 4 different legs of the Pacific Coast trip. This plan is for a 2 week trip.
Prepare for your flight.
- Pack your carry-on with liquids in an outside pocket to make it easy to get through security.
- Stow personal jewelry in a plastic bag until after passing through security. You can put your jewelry on after you’ve put your shoes back on and made it through the metal detector.
- Keep boarding pass, driver’s license and passport in an accessible but secure pocket.
- Use a backpack-handbag to allow room for more items. This is also much easier to carry than a shoulder bag. Pack the following:
- Earplanes to help with pressure during landing and take-off. (found at Wal-Mart)
- Chewing Gum
- Hand Sanitizer
- Chapstick
- Phone/tablet and earbuds for listening to podcasts
- Electronics’ chargers
- Medication
- Power Shot or similar camera
Pack for the cruise.
- Rain gear including water-proof shoes, compact umbrella, parka with hoodie
- Lanyard for stateroom key
- Light jacket such as NorthFace. (Wore this only one day in Glacier Bay)
- Thin insulated vests for layering on cool days. (I bought one on the cruise and wished I had one in every color. This was the perfect outer layer)
