Fashion Friday at The Pink Tulip

Today’s feature is straight from our neighborhood specialty shop, The Pink Tulip, in Homewood, AL. I have loved this store since it opened in 1986. My sweet helper this week, was Melanie who put outfits together, took my pictures and found just the right long necklaces to elongate my short body. These outfits make me want to change out of my pj’s.

A solid color with striped leggings make me look a little taller.

The necklace Melanie chose for this outfit had a mix of metals and pearls. It could be dressy or casual.

The leggings and tunic paired with an infinity scarf and necklace elongate my torso.

This tunic’s print looked like a cabled sweater, but it was oh so cool on the skin. Once again, according to Melanie, it is good to wear a scarf with a long and short necklace. They have a great selection of both for Christmas gifts.

I felt 10 years younger in this little outfit. The ruffled sleeves are precious. I bought several items, but not this top.  I may have to go back and get it!

I love the little birdcage necklace.

I’ve always been told that since I’m short and a little heavier than I used to be, that I can’t do stripes. Melanie said, “Oh yes you can, in a Chevron. The upward motion of the stripe helps to make you look thinner.” Well, I had to try it. What do you think? For a pop of color, she added the turquoise flower pendant. Isn’t it so cute?

I am no model, unless it’s for big girl clothing. What I love about The Pink Tulip is their ability to make a 50+ year old, overweight, lady look and feel fabulous and fashionable. I hope this long over lean style never goes out!

They have a great selection of long necklaces, scarves, leggings and long tops to cover the areas that need covering. I did quite a bit of Christmas shopping in here this week. There is something for every age group.

If you stop by, ask for Melanie, she was so sweet and very helpful. And isn’t she pretty? Thank you, Melanie!

Although, I have to add that as long as I’ve been shopping at Pink Tulip, everybody there is always helpful. They also ship, so take a peek at their photo album. You’re sure to find something you can’t live without.
