Visions of sugar cookies are dancing in my head, but not just any sugar cookie. I’m not thinking about the cookie dough rolls from the grocer, or the mix from the cake mix aisle and YOU know I’m not pulling out my Sunbeam, so where is an elf to find her Christmas cookies? Your local bakery will have “Momma settled in for a long winter’s night” without cleaning the kitchen. A recent stop into The Little Cake Shop in Spanish Fort, AL inspired me to share their artistry and delectable goodies with you.
This collection of delicate goodies are my personal favorites. Sugar cookies with sprinkles, icing and glittery sugar crystals.
If you turn this gingerbread man upside down…
He turns into Rudolph.
Cookies made of gingerbread with truly artistic icing. Cookie decorating at its best.
The pastry case is filled with delicacies, and trays of cookies are ready to thrill a teacher, party hostess, grandkids or your family. Or, if you need a cake, they have beautiful choices…
What is your favorite bake shop like? The Little Cake Shop in Spanish Fort, AL is owned by Lorrie Chambers who has been in this business for 18 years. Her family has been in the baking business even longer with her family also owning The Pastry Shop in Mobile. If you are looking for a little something to nibble, their mini pies sell for $2.25 each during the holidays. They will also have special breads like banana nut, cranberry orange and Vienese Coffee Cake for $5.75 for the small size. Freshly baked pies will include pecan, caramel apple walnut, peachberry, pumpkin, pumpkin cheesecake, chocolate mousse and french coconut for $20.95. Also in the pastry case this season will be their delicious yule tide log.
When I asked, Amy, (Lorrie’s daughter) what hint she would give those who will be decorating their own cookies this year; she didn’t hesitate to answer, “icing consistency is key, but be sure to add candy and sprinkles to make it fun.” This is the kind of service you can expect from The Little Cake Shop.

Well, it looks like I have to get out and explore Spanish Fort. All I know is the mall and I’ve been wanting to find the new big Goodwill store, but now a bake shop with cookies may take priority. I could live on coffee and cookies. Actually, I think I do and it shows. 😉
No Lorraine, this is one time when I’m happy to tell you that you are wrong. I figured you are one of those ladies who never indulges in a cookie or if you do, you have a hard-working metabolism. I wish I could camp out at The Little Cake Shop! Delicious goodies everywhere!!!
Wish they were located in my neighborhood. Everything looks spectacular and I am sure it is all delicious. What a great shop.
I can smell the gingerbread now!

You will love the shop, the people and the goodies! Can’t wait to see you down this way.
These cookies look great! I have passed by The Little Cake Shop only a million or so times, and have never stopped in…I’ll have to visit, now that I’ve been tempted! Thanks for sharing.
