A very dear friend recently gave me the gift of 5 bobeches. I didn’t know what these little jewels were called before she gave them to me, but I love saying their name. It’s pronounced bo-bash and I love how they sparkle and dangle and cast prisms on my ceiling. I added them to my office chandelier for a little bling and love how they dressed up this little room..
Chandelier Before adding the bobeches.
They were simple to install. Just remove the shade and bulb and slip over the candle tube. Yes, I’ve been studying chandelier diagrams. It’s amazing what all there is to learn when you have a post to write.
That’s just one more thing I love about blogging. I’m either learning something new or refreshing my memory on a daily basis.
When I first opened this delightful gift, I thought they would be so pretty on a grouping of tapered candlesticks. Then my friend and I (who will be affectionately referred to here as W because she is a private lady), noticed a wall sconce in the hotel where we were staying. She commented, “ooh, look how pretty they are on sconces.” Ding! Dong! I ditched the idea of candlesticks and went to upgrading my simple office chandelier.
I compared the chandelier with and without shades and for now will leave the shades. I’ve added new shades to my errands list for the week, because I now think the black is too dark.
But, isn’t this so much prettier? My office is getting a re-do and it all started with a bobeche. Thank you, W! I will cherish them forever!
