A Season Full of Great Things

It’s a season full of great things…

Autumn, Autumn, Autumn

Autumn, autumn, autumn!
A season
Full of great things
A season that brings
Happiness to people
And animals
Autumn, autumn, autumn!
Birds singing
Their morning songs
Praising the Lord
For the fruits
Provided in the wild
Autumn, autumn, autumn!   ~ Gomotsegang Sebadieta

Ready to Give Thanks

Autumn is definitely a season full of great things.  Things to be thankful for.  I’m thankful for dishes from Pier 1, gold leaf placemats from Wally World and Mr. & Mrs. Pilgrim who came all the way over from Hobby Lobby.  I love setting my table for fall and it can be done inexpensively.

Pilgrims and Native Americans are great things in the Autumn

Great Things include an Autumn Place Setting

My dinner plate is part of my everyday china that I received when we got married.  It is Marseilles by Mikasa and the “birds singing their morning songs” salad plate and napkin ring are from Pier 1.  I used a gold charger and gold mesh ribbon as a table runner.  I use what I have on hand and it’s a little different every year.

Mary Carpenter sang it best:

Grateful for each hand we hold
Gathered round this table.
From far and near we travel home,
Blessed that we are able.
Grateful for this sheltered place
With light in every window,
Saying “welcome, welcome
Share this feast
Come in away from sorrow.”
Father, mother, daughter, son,
Neighbor, friend and friendless;
All together everyone
In the gift of loving-kindness.
Grateful for what? s understood,
And all that is forgiven;
We try so hard to be good,
To lead a life worth living.
Father, mother, daughter, son,
Neighbor, friend, and friendless;
All together everyone
Let grateful days be endless.
Grateful for each hand we hold
Gathered round this table
