A Dish Called Soap

In the movie, “A Fish Called Wanda,” one funny quote that is repeated by the character Otto is,

“Don’t call me stupid!”

That is the feature for today’s 31 Days of Flipping Out. I have gone through my house with the cutest little candy/soap dish finding fun ways to use it. I found this little jewel on one of my many thrifting trips this month and fell in love with it and its’ price of $8. My sister did the same thing and so this post is filled with uses for a dish called soap.

This is Kristie’s find for mere pennies.

Now it is home to everything that comes out of hubby’s pockets. Nice and Tidy. Get it, Alabama graduation ring…Tidy!

And here is my little jewel showcasing a glittery pumpkin. For added height, I turned a votive upside down.

I can’t wait til Easter now, so I can play with these little chickies. I will likely be using this candy dish for every holiday. Rose petals and chocolates at Valentines; shamrocks and St. Patty; red, white and blue jelly beans on Independence Day; little pilgrims and turkey on Thanksgiving; and oh my, the options are endless for Christmas.

And, “don’t call me stupid,” but… how about using it as an actual soap dish?

Another one of those, “don’t call me stupid”, but how about a pretty home for those not-so-pretty dishwasher pods?

And yes, here is the biggest “don’t call me stupid” of all! If like me, you breathe wrong during the night and keep your loved one awake, keep your “Breathe Right” strips next to the bed in a pretty dish.

And that my friends is the life story of a dish called soap, and don’t you dare call me stupid!
